About Blissiva

A physical resort built one room, one table at a time.

Blissiva Casino Hotel is a family-owned hospitality and gaming venue on New Zealand's South Island — no apps, no remote play, just a real building in Queenstown.

How We Started

From a single lodge to a full casino resort

Blissiva opened its doors in Queenstown just over a decade ago as a small lodge with twelve rooms and a single card room. The founders, a local hospitality family, wanted a venue where visitors to the South Island could combine a proper night's stay with a proper night out — without needing to leave the property or log into anything online.

As demand grew, the lodge expanded twice: first with a dedicated gaming floor licensed under New Zealand's gambling regulations, then with a conference wing built for corporate groups and private functions. Today, Blissiva operates as a full casino hotel, but the original idea has not changed — everything happens on-site, face-to-face.

Our Building & Location

Set in the heart of Queenstown

The hotel sits on Brecon Street, a short walk from Queenstown's lake front, the Skyline Gondola base station and the town's main restaurant strip. Guests can walk to dinner, walk to the lake, and walk back to a room or the game floor without needing a car.

The building itself was designed around natural light and mountain views — most rooms and the main lounge look out toward the Remarkables range. The game floor, by contrast, is intentionally enclosed: warm lighting, no windows, and a layout built for focus rather than distraction.

Our Approach to Gaming

A licensed floor, run by people you can talk to

Every table and machine on our floor is operated under New Zealand gaming law, with trained dealers and hosts on shift at all times. We do not offer remote or app-based play of any kind — if you want to play at Blissiva, you come to the floor.

We also take responsible gambling seriously: entry to the floor is restricted to guests aged 20 and over, self-exclusion is available on request, and our staff are trained to recognise and support guests who need a break from play.

Our Team

Hospitality staff, dealers and hosts, all in one building

Blissiva is run by a single team spanning front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, events and the game floor. Because everyone works under one roof, a request made at check-in — a table reservation, a room upgrade, a private floor booking — can usually be arranged the same day.

Many of our senior staff have been with Blissiva since the early lodge years, and several of our dealers trained locally in Queenstown before joining the floor team. It is a small, close operation, and we prefer to keep it that way.
